John Kumjian: Bass, Harmonica, Vocals · John is a multi-instrumentalist. Known especially for his guitar, keyboard, and vocal work in New Third Coast, one of the region’s finest musical acts, John also performs with “Looking Forward” and “The Jim Crockett Band.” For The Dune Brothers, he has committed to bass guitar. He also takes up the torch as prevailing vocalist and unofficial ensemble director. In short, he makes the band’s wheels turn. When he’s not performing, he’s busy writing, recording, and drumming for other artists.
Brian Marek: Drums, Vocals · Brian has been part of the Grand Traverse County music scene for over forty years. His drumming has created the foundation for many bands, and he continues that tradition with The Dune Brothers. Brian also handles lead vocals for much of our set list. He has also mastered the electronic drum kit—an art in itself—which allows the band a range of performance options.
David Noller: Saxophones · David has been featured in various bands around northern Michigan, including Luther Gravy and the Soul Biscuits. David also performs with the Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band and the Benzie Area Band. Along with his beloved bari-saxophone, its growling sound now integral to The Dune Brothers, David brings out his tenor and soprano. While trained in a range of genres and styles, he adds new dimension to the band’s repertoire.
Johnathon North: Guitar, Vocals · Johnathon spent years touring with bands throughout the Midwest. He was the principal writer and singer for a traveling rock band. With record label and publishing company support, some of his songs landed on mainstream radio, television, and film. When he’s not slinging his Stratocaster or PRS with The Dune Brothers, Johnathon also plays with Rock Hat, Manitou Blues, and solo at area venues.
Robert Yvon: Guitar · Robert has made music with local bands over the course of 45 years—and counting—including Chico, Fresh Fossils, and Sweetwater Blues Band. He brings an appreciation of genres ranging from classic country and rock to blues with soul, while putting an original twist on old and new favorites.
